About Tim
Writing for the life
of the church.
Tim Challies is a pastor, speaker and author whose writing has helped Christians around the world think carefully about faith and everyday life. A pioneer in Christian media, he is known for Challies.com, one of the world’s most widely read Christian blogs.
He began the website in 2002 and has written there daily since 2003. His articles, book reviews and daily A La Carte collections connect readers with thoughtful Christian writing and resources for the church.
His books range from making theology accessible to exploring Christian history and finding comfort in grief. They include Visual Theology, Epic: An Around-the-World Journey through Christian History, and the ECPA award-winning Seasons of Sorrow: The Pain of Loss and the Comfort of God.
Tim serves as an elder at Grace Fellowship Church in Toronto, Ontario, and lives with his family near Toronto. We are delighted to welcome him as a principal speaker at Reformation Australia.
